Description
Join us for an in-depth look at increasing access and opportunities for all math learners and their teachers! You'll have the opportunity to connect with educators in your line of work from across southern Wisconsin, learning all the best practices to provide math instruction.
This year, we will be offering two math networks: one in the morning for coaches and administrators, and one in the afternoon for all educators, specialists, and administrators that will focus on inclusive teaching strategies through a book study. You can also attend both networks for a reduced fee.
Math Coaches Network (Morning sessions)

Make math instruction a practical learning experience for every classroom! This year's Math Coaches Network will strengthen the impact of teaching practices and give purpose to every math course and exercise. Join fellow math coaches and leaders for each session, which will center on a specific practice from a proven math teaching framework, offering practical strategies, collaborative discussion, and tools to support teacher growth.
Topic for each day includes:
- 9/26/25: Support productive struggle in learning mathematics
- 11/21/25: Establish mathematics goals to focus learning
- 12/12/25: Implement tasks that promote reasoning and problem solving
- 1/9/2026: Build procedural fluency through conceptual understanding
- 2/13/26: Facilitate meaningful mathematical discourse
- 3/13/26: Pose purposeful questions
- 4/24/26: Use and connect mathematical representations
- 5/29/26: Elicit and use evidence of student thinking

Gain the tools and confidence to teach all students in mathematics! Join us for a collaborative book study focused on inclusive, research-based strategies to support all math learners, including students with disabilities, multilingual learners, and neurodiverse students. Through the network, you'll experience Universal Design for Learning (UDL), practical classroom techniques, and equitable approaches to instruction, IEP goal writing, and more. Use this opportunity also to connect with math educators from throughout the region.

Our Presenters:
Molly Rilling joins CESA 2 as a Math Consultant and Instructional Coach. She has a background in secondary math and social studies working as a 7th Grade math and social studies teacher at Westby Area Middle School, and later as a math teacher at La Crosse Logan High School and Monona Grove High School. More recently, Molly was the Instructional Coach at Monona Grove High School and a Secondary Mathematics Coach for the Monona Grove School District. While working in different roles, Molly has participated in various building-level systems and site-based leadership teams as an AVID Coordinator, PBIS Tier I Coach, ICS for Equity, Technology Lead, and Culture and Climate team member. In 2020, Molly furthered her studies in education and completed her Masters in Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis as a member of the K-12 Leadership for Social Justice Cohort at UW-Madison where she also attained her Administration and Director of C&I licenses. Through this program, she learned she truly has a passion for equity work as it relates to systems analysis, data collection, and implementation.
Matt Hayden joins CESA 2 as a Math Consultant and Instructional Coach. For the past seven years, Matt has served the Monona Grove School District as a 4K-12 Math Instructional Coach, Math Curriculum Leader, Equity Team Leader, and Equity Team School Liaison. Prior to his work in Monona Grove, he served the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District as a math and science teacher at the middle school level. Matt brings extensive expertise in co-teaching, as well as the co-plan to co-serve model. He received his bachelor's degree in horticulture from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, a certificate in K-8 General Teaching with a Science Minor from Cardinal Stritch University, a certificate in K-8 Math from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and his Master of Arts in Education degree from Cardinal Stritch University. He firmly believes that co-planning to co-serve is a process that can transform education for all students.
