About this event: Come learn about what it takes to start or grow your district's robotics program at all levels. See students present their competition robots and share the skills they have attained along their journey. Laura Masbruch from Whitewater HS will share how their program has grown and what they have learned in the short time they have existed. Participants will also gain an understanding of the FIRST Robotics philosophy of "Coopertition" allowing all students to learn from each other as they compete.

Our Presenters: Laura Masbruch & Frank Devereaux
Laura Masbruch has taught computer science and math at Whitewater High School for 32 years. She founded the FIRST Robotics Competition Team Ferradermis in the fall of 2016 at the urging of two senior students.
Frank Devereaux is an Innovative Deeper Learning Designer from the Madison area and works as a consultant for CESA 2 in the Strategic Innovation for Learning Center of Excellence. His experience centers on the integration of technology in creative and innovative ways to support student learning in the classroom. Over the past few years, he has been diving into the realm of AI integration, inclusivity and equity in STEAM curriculum, and Design Thinking Projects for the Makerspace that are culturally relevant.
