Our Presenters:

Deidra Gorman joined CESA 2 as an E-MLSS Consultant/Coach in 2023. Before this role, she worked for the Wisconsin RtI Center as a Technical Assistance Coordinator/EMLSS Systems Coach. Prior to that, she served as the Student Services & Equity Coordinator at the Monona Grove School District and also has 18 years of experience as a teacher. Deidra is committed to educational equity, and is a systems thinker with experience in Implementation Science. She is dedicated to supporting school districts in equity centered continuous improvement.

 

Kris Statz holds a Master of Science in Education, along with credentials as a Reading Teacher, Reading Specialist, and licensure in Cross-Categorical Special Education for students from kindergarten through age 21. She currently serves as an EMLSS Coach and Literacy Consultant at CESA 2.

Before joining CESA 2, Kris gained extensive experience as a special education teacher, instructional coach, and district reading specialist. In her literacy work, she is certified as a LETRS Local Facilitator and a Keys to Beginning Reading Facilitator.

Kris is deeply committed to ensuring equitable access to education for all learners. Throughout her career, she has focused on empowering both students and educators by promoting inclusive practices, implementing evidence-based literacy strategies, and fostering opportunities for growth and success.
