About this event: CESA 2 2024-25 Community of Practice is designed to guide educators through the Wisconsin Career Readiness Standards (WCRS) and provide actionable strategies for creating future-ready students. Training activities will focus on continuous improvement, career-connected learning, personalized competency-based education, and work-based learning.

Participants will explore topics such as:

  • Understanding the Why: The rationale behind the Wisconsin Career Readiness Standards and their alignment with state initiatives.

  • From Concept to Classroom: How to effectively implement the standards in K-12 classrooms.

  • Continuous Improvement: Transforming educational practices to ensure every student is prepared for the future.

In addition, learn about Teamship and Design Sprints from Dan Gonzalez, CEO and Co-Founder of District C.

About the Presenters:

Dan Gonzalez, Co-Founder & CEO, District C, NC
Dan, a former high school physics teacher, is currently the CEO of District C, a non-profit organization in North Carolina. The organization supports school districts in connecting work-based learning to the business community through a process called Teamship. This reimagined experience allows students to solve real problems for real businesses. Dan's past experiences and creative thinking brought this concept to life, allowing District C to redefine the internship experience for students, better preparing them for the modern workforce.

 

 

Scott Carr joins CESA 2 to assist districts with student readiness. Previously, Scott was a coordinator with CESA 7 and supported districts in the state within the area of Redefining Ready. As a part of this work, Scott brought innovative opportunities to districts in all areas of career and life readiness, along with assisting districts in redefining student success. In addition, Scott brought a high level of experience with Academic and Career Planning, which included portrait of a graduate, graduation options, career pathways, and realigning CTE programming. Scott’s passion for career and college readiness has led to the development of high school pathways that meet the needs of all students. Scott has a MA in Special Education, Educational Leadership and Instruction & Curriculum.
