About this Event: CESA 2’s MakerSpace Designer Professional Learning Cohort is a unique opportunity for educators to enhance their skills in design and STEAM activities while networking with local districts. This series aims to provide a platform for educators to exchange ideas, learn new techniques, and collaborate on innovative projects in a supportive and inspiring environment.
The MakerSpace Professional Learning Series' primary objectives are as follows:
~Foster a community of educators implementing maker-centered learning experiences in their schools.
~Develop and enhance participants' skills in design thinking, STEAM activities, and makerspace implementation.
~Facilitate networking among like-minded educators for ongoing support and collaboration within a single district and connect their teams to nearby districts.
~Gain access to resources and expertise to enhance their makerspace programs
The series will consist of monthly meetings over the course of a year. Each meeting will focus on a specific aspect of makerspace education and will include discussions, hands-on activities, and collaborative design projects. The topics covered will range from introduction to makerspace tools and resources to advanced design challenges and STEAM integration. The cohorts will collaborate on joint projects, share best practices, and explore potential partnerships with local districts. Participants will have the chance to showcase their projects and share their experiences with the wider educational community.
We are excited to bring this unique professional learning opportunity to educators and look forward to the positive impact it will have on the educational community.
