About this Event: Join other student services professionals, including school counselors, school social workers, school psychologists, and other student support staff, for CESA 2’s Student Services networking series, the Supporting Students Together Network.

Each session offers opportunities to connect with colleagues and collaborate around shared problems of practice to explore effective approaches for supporting all students. This year’s series will also feature a book study of The Anxious Generation (book included with registration and available for pick up at the first session).

Engage, reflect, and grow with others who share your commitment to student well-being and success.

Our Presenters:

Deidra Gorman serves as the Senior Director of Behavior and Mental Health, a School Improvement Consultant, and a WiMLSS Coach for CESA 2. Prior to this role, she worked with the Wisconsin RtI Center as a Technical Assistance Coordinator/MLSS Systems Coach. A systems thinker with a background in Implementation Science, Deidra is committed to partnering with school districts on continuous improvement efforts that remove barriers and support all students. 

 

 

Jamie Syvrud is an experienced educator with more than 27 years of experience. Jamie began her career as a K-8 general music teacher before entering the world of school administration. As an administrator she has been an assistant principal, principal, Executive Director of Learning and Support in Racine Unified, Director of Learning and Student Services in Lake Mills and currently the Co-Senior Director of Specialized Services and Staffing, Director of JEDI Virtual School and a consultant in the areas of Special Education, Co-Teaching and Trauma Sensitive Schools for CESA 2.

 


Joe or Joey Garcia is a school psychologist whose role is focused on a wide span of services offered to students and staff focused on increasing academic achievement, cognitive development, positive behaviors, and overall well being of the student. Joe earned his Masters in School Psychology and Education Specialist degree from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and has licensure in Wisconsin, as well as his national certification in School Psychology. Joe grew up in South Elgin, Illinois, and dealt with family tragedies, poverty and many other issues students tend to face, but received a tremendous amount of support through his school staff, which in turn, inspired him to be the same source of support for students all over the Wisconsin area. Joe is a nationally certified school psychologist from The National Association of School Psychologists (NASP), and is currently entering his fourth year as a school psychologist for CESA 2.

 



Ted Noll is the CESA 2 RSN Director/Director of Special Education. Ted was the Director of Student Services and Special Education at Cedarburg School District for the past seven years. He has also worked at the Brown Deer School District, Fox Point - Bayside School District and the Racine Unified School District. Ted is licensed as a Director of Student Services, Superintendent, Principal, Director of Curriculum & Instruction, and School Psychologist. Ted integrated EMLSS for academics and behavior district-wide, led the Professional Learning Community framework with integrated co-plan / co-serve components, led the district-wide violent intruder district response system, and led initiatives around mental wellness and social-emotional learning support.
