About: Participants in this workshop will learn, share, and refine effective facilitation moves for supporting group learning. We will look at best practices for planning for stand-alone sessions as well as planning out a professional learning scope. Our fall workshop will focus on design and delivery of individual and upcoming professional learning while our spring workshop will focus on building out a meaningful and relevant professional learning scope. Come on your own or with a team! All participants will leave with a draft plan for an upcoming meeting or professional learning scope.

About the Presenters:

Beth ClarkeBeth Clarke is an innovative educator with over 25 years of experience who is an advocate to ignite the learning experience.  Her passion lies in learner-centered pedagogy while partnering with educators to leverage digital tools and resources. Currently, Beth’s role is the Senior Director of the Strategic Innovation for Learning Center at CESA 2 where she has the opportunity to support educators across southern WI.  Also, Beth facilitates the integration of Universal Design for Learning to promote conditions for inclusive education, the New Teacher Mentor program to support educator induction and sustainability, as well as the ISTE Educator Certification program which builds modern educators worldwide.  Most importantly, equity is a priority in every facet of her work.

 

 

 

Beth Clarke Jaren Bailey’s journey began in 2001 as a middle school Literacy (ELA) teacher in Bronx, New York. Over the next 16 years, she taught both middle and high school in Milwaukee and Verona, WI.  Following her teaching career, she ventured into Instructional Coaching where she enjoyed connecting with teachers about their instructional practices, and leading her school’s transition to proficiency-based grading, and curriculum renewal work. She also had the privilege of  leading professional learning for Instructional Coaches, AVID Coordinators and teachers, and district leaders in the Madison Metropolitan School district.  Most recently, Jaren was the Director of the Dane County New Teacher Project where she led professional learning for  Instructional Coaches, Mentors, new educators, and school leaders across a 14 district consortium of schools. Regardless of location and job title, Jaren has remained committed to working toward more equitable outcomes for students and to reaching the students who often feel out of place in schools.  Jaren continues to find joy in engaging with adult learners, partnering to explore thinking, try new ideas, and reflect on professional practice that will ultimately pave the way for better student outcomes for all.
